CREATING A MAN

This play is an effort to frame a "Crisc-Intelectuelle", an

"intellectual crisis"... It has no obvious and pure argument... Yet,

there are many arguments intenvined and a few main theses per sc.

First of all, what is an artist? A creature who dwells on the

richest and the best portion of "bringing into being" peculiar to

mankind, on the way of eternal progress, directing towards God

who is the unattainable peak of all means, the intention of inten-

tions, the perfection of perfections and the world of unseen. An

artist is a creature, merely a creature working to create. He has his

work of art as well as his own self. As you sec, an artist is already

the existent epitome of the model he tries to create.

In this play, the artist, like the invisibly existing phases of a

fruit maturing behind the scene and of mine maturing under the

earth, is wanted to be framed within his inner plan and privacy. On

the other hand, he is just a man like anyone else. He has a life and

fate. In this work, the artist falls into the fortune well he desires to

create for his character and he is invaded by him and also lakes part

in the work with his own life.

To the artist in this play, God means eternity. He attempted to

compete with the eternity, forced his boundary. As he wished to

forced his self, he suddenly encountered with himself that he had

not even known until then. The fate of many people - as if we could

control it - is led by a fine art up in the sky which will give us an

endless quietness and sense of liberty.
